HSS conducted awareness sessions on health, nutrition, and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) as well as anemia for urban and tribal girls and women. Such initiatives are crucial for promoting overall well-being and improving the quality of life for these communities. In addition to these topics, the session included interactive activities, discussions, and possibly even practical demonstrations to engage participants and ensure that the information is effectively communicated and understood. HSS distributes education materials, stationery, and books regularly to tribal students from remote villages. This effort can significantly contribute to improving educational access and outcomes for these children. Regular distribution of educational materials to tribal students demonstrates a commitment to their educational well-being and contributes to breaking down barriers to quality education. Over time, our effort can lead to improved literacy rates, increased educational attainment, and enhanced opportunities for these students.

  HSS engaged in disaster response efforts by providing food kits and essential supplies to the communities affected by the Sangali and Chiplun floods in Maharashtra, India. Natural disasters can cause immense devastation, displacing communities and leaving them in urgent need of basic necessities. Our organization's proactive response in delivering relief aid demonstrates a commitment to supporting those in distress.

Disaster Management Workshops

HSS provided disaster management lectures and training to college students. This is a valuable initiative that equips young individuals with essential skills and knowledge to respond effectively in times of emergencies and disasters.

HSS organizes regular clean-up drives in reserved forests to contribute to environmental conservation and preserve the natural beauty and biodiversity of these areas. By involving school students, college students, and communities we promote responsible behavior that can play a vital role in fostering a culture of environmental stewardship and promoting sustainable practices.

HSS Conducted research studies in collaboration with government departments to contribute to evidence-based policy-making, address societal challenges, and drive positive change. By combining the expertise and resources of both the NGO and the government, research outcomes are more likely to contribute to informed policy decisions and meaningful societal improvements. 

HSS created impactful documentary ‘Yeoor – The Green Lungs of Thane’ to amplify the Conservation message, spark conversations, and drive tangible change in society as documentaries have the power to educate, inspire, and mobilize people toward positive action.

The documentary was selected at esteemed "Urban Climate Film Festival." This exquisite event was being organized by the esteemed National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), India, as a part of the City Investments to Innovate, Integrate, and Sustain (CITIIS) program, and lovingly curated by CMS VATAVARAN.

This festival aimed to showcase climate change's impact on life in cities, contribute to the discourse on climate-centric urban development and provide a platform for filmmakers and other practitioners to bring to light pressing concerns related to climate. The Urban Climate Film Festival premiered in New Delhi in March 2023 and traveled to Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad for screening.
